St. Thomas, Virgin Islands – The poll conducted by VI Tech Stack in collaboration with the UVI Institute for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (ILOE) correctly predicted the results of the 2018 General Election.

In the Governor’s race, the poll correctly predicted the top 5 vote getters in order (Albert Bryan, Kenneth E. Mapp, Adlah “Foncie” Donastorg, Warren Mosler, and Soraya Diase Coffelt). The poll was correct in predicting a runoff between Albert Bryan and Kenneth Mapp and was remarkably accurate in predicting the margin between Bryan and Mapp. The unofficial margin currently stands at over 4 points and we predicted 6.

2018 Unofficial USVI General Election Results

The poll correctly predicted Steven D. Payne Sr. would win the USVI Senate At-Large race.

The poll’s findings were also very consistent with the outcome of the legislative races split by district. The St. Croix legislative race had 20 total candidates on the ballot. The top 7 vote earners were Allison DeGazon, Alicia Barnes, Javan James, Kurt Vialet, Novelle E. Francis Jr., Oakland Benta, and Kenneth Kenny Gittens. The poll correctly picked all 7 of the St Croix legislative winners; all of these candidates appeared in the top 7 of the VI Tech Stack poll results. The top 4 were correctly picked in order.

The St. Thomas/St. John legislative race had 18 total candidates on the ballot. The top 7 vote earners were Marvin A. Blyden, Donna Frett Gregory, Janelle K. Sarauw, Athneil “Bobby” Thomas, Dwayne M. DeGraff, Carla Joseph, and Myron D. Jackson. We correctly predicted 6 out of 7 of these candidates as they appeared in the top 7 of the VI Tech Stack poll results.

We want to thank Dr. Davies and their team for the great work they do at ILOE and their partnership on this project. The results were a resounding success.
