A plurality of voters in the USVI believe that the restrictions he has put in place are adequate, yet there are still a significant number who believe they don’t go far enough.

There was a difference of opinion on this question between St. Thomas and St. Croix. St. Thomas/St. John voters were more likely to think the current restrictions were adequate, but St. Croix voters wanted more restrictions.

It is important to note that this poll was taken prior to the closing of beaches, and after the widely publicized beach parties at Cane Beach in St. Croix.

“The toughest decision the Governor has to make is how much to restrict the rights of residents and polling shows he seems to be getting this right,” said Yob. “I would expect the St. Croix numbers to improve now that the beaches have been closed.”

Governor Bryan making the right decision in the eyes of USVI residents is further backed up by the stability of his job approval ratings pre pandemic to present.
